Independent creative, based in Switzerland. I develop visual ideas and take them from the first thought to the finished work. Film and motion design are at the heart of my practice, with an eye for atmosphere, movement and detail. The person behind maguera.

My name is Alexandre Marta Guerreiro, or Alex for short. I’m interested in how an idea becomes something that connects with people. My work brings together concept, design and production.
I live and work in Switzerland. I completed a three-year programme in Interactive Media Design at the Schule für Gestaltung St.Gallen, graduating with a diploma in Communication Design HF and the additional title Professional Bachelor.
Whether I’m behind the camera, working in a timeline or building a prototype, the content and its form need to work together. I work independently and enjoy collaborating with a team. For larger film projects, I can draw on a network of creatives. Bringing different perspectives and skills together can take an idea further.

The effect often lies in the details: the light, a movement, the rhythm of an edit or the way image and sound work together.
Concept and craft go hand in hand for me. I plan, film, design and edit the work myself, looking for the visual form that best serves each idea.

I’m drawn to poetry, drama and unexpected turns. They inspire ideas that show familiar things from another perspective and leave room for people to find their own meaning.
That curiosity shapes my work with brands, businesses, agencies and fellow creatives. I’m drawn to people who are open to sharing ideas, exploring them together and creating something original. That exchange is an important part of maguera.
